MARVION - Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern all furniture sales, bespoke services, and use of the
MARVION website. MARVION is a UK-based distributor of handcrafted European-style
furniture, created in partnership with Yves Fouquey - a distinguished atelier established in
1999 with a presence across France, Italy, Germany, and Ukraine. By placing an order
through our website, email, or social channels, you acknowledge that you have read,
understood, and accepted these Terms.
Intellectual Property
All imagery, product descriptions, downloadable materials, and brand assets featured on our website are the
exclusive intellectual property of MARVION and/or our partners. These materials are protected under UK
copyright, trademark, and design law. Content may be viewed or downloaded for personal, non-commercial
use only. Any reproduction, distribution, or commercial use without written consent is strictly prohibited.
Pricing
All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT and delivery unless otherwise stated. Prices may be amended without
prior notice. For international shipments, VAT may be zero-rated subject to compliance with HMRC VAT
Notice 703. Where customers arrange their own export, a refundable VAT deposit may be required until valid
proof of export is provided.
Order Confirmation
A detailed proforma invoice will be issued for every order, outlining all items, finishes, and agreed
customization. This document supersedes all prior quotations or correspondence. It is the customer's
responsibility to review the proforma carefully before approval. Amendments requested after confirmation
may incur additional charges and are subject to production feasibility.
Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is required to commence production. The remaining balance must be settled no later than four
weeks prior to dispatch. Goods will not be released until full payment has cleared. Delayed payments may
affect production and delivery schedules. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer and major
credit/debit cards.
Handcrafted Production
Each MARVION piece is individually handcrafted using traditional European techniques. Natural variations in
grain, tone, and finish are inherent to solid wood and contribute to the individuality of each item. If a higher
degree of uniformity is required, this must be discussed prior to ordering.
Wood Finishes
All finishes are applied by hand. Samples are indicative only and may vary due to natural wood
characteristics. For multi-item orders, we recommend placing all items together to maximize consistency.
Samples are valid for six months; orders placed beyond this period may require updated samples.
Branded Products
All MARVION furniture carries discreet branding as a mark of authenticity. Unbranded versions may be
supplied only if agreed prior to order confirmation.
Fabrics & Customer-Supplied Materials (COM)
Customers supplying their own fabric must ensure it is suitable, compliant with UK Fire Regulations,
defect-free, and delivered on time. Special placement instructions must be provided in writing and may incur
design fees. MARVION accepts no liability for flaws, performance issues, or delays arising from
customer-supplied materials.
Bespoke Reproductions & Design Rights
We accept bespoke commissions, including reproductions based on client images or sketches. Exact
replication cannot be guaranteed unless the original piece is provided. Customers are solely responsible for
ensuring copyright and design-right compliance. By commissioning a bespoke item, you grant MARVION the
right to manufacture, photograph, and sell the design unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Technical Drawings & Buttoning
Where technical drawings are required, two revisions are included. Additional revisions may incur fees.
Upholstered items with buttoning or detailing will follow MARVION's standard layout unless a specific
arrangement is agreed in advance.
Antiques & Reproductions
MARVION specialists in newly crafted furniture inspired by antique European forms. These are not original
antiques. All antique-style items are sold "as seen" and no warranties are given regarding provenance or
historical authenticity unless expressly stated.
Lead Times
Typical production lead times are 6-12 weeks from deposit, order confirmation, and receipt of all required
materials. International deliveries may require an additional 4-6 weeks. Lead times are estimates and not
legally binding. Delays caused by suppliers, logistics, or global events are outside our control.
Delivery
All items are professionally packed for transport. Customers will be contacted to arrange a delivery window.
Signing for delivery confirms the goods have been received in good condition. Claims for damage cannot be
accepted after signing. Re delivery fees apply if no one is available to receive the goods. Storage fees of 2.5%
per week apply if delivery is delayed by the customer.
Delivery Services
Standard delivery includes unpacking, placement (ground or first floor), and removal of packaging. Assembly
is included for relevant items. Special access requirements (hoisting, window access, restricted spaces) must
be arranged in advance and may incur additional charges.
Product Dimensions & Access
Dimensions are provided on our website and order documents. Customers must ensure adequate access.
Access checks are available upon request. Minor dimensional variations may occur due to handcrafted
production.
Leveling & Floors
Furniture is leveled prior to dispatch. Uneven floors may cause misalignment; leveling services can be
provided at additional cost.
Quality Standards
All items are inspected before dispatch and must match the agreed design, be free from material defects, and
meet the standards of the UK Sale of Goods Act 1979. Issues must be reported in writing within a reasonable
time frame. Remedies may include repair, replacement, or refund, excluding misuse, third-party materials, or
normal wear.
Wood Movement & Environment
Solid wood may move slightly due to humidity or temperature changes. This is not considered a defect.
Indoor humidity should be maintained between 45-55%. MARVION is not liable for environmental damage
after delivery.
International Customers
We ship globally via trusted logistics partners. Customers are responsible for customs agents, export
documentation, duties, and taxes. Faulty items must be returned to our UK facility for inspection; overseas
shipping costs remain the customer's responsibility.
Returns & Cancellations
As all items are made to order, statutory cancellation rights do not apply. Orders cannot be cancelled once
production begins. Pre-production cancellations may incur charges up to 50% of the order value. Showroom
items are sold as seen and may incur restocking fees.
Risk & Title
Ownership transfers upon full payment. Risk transfers upon delivery or collection. MARVION reserves the
right to retrieve unpaid goods.
Liability
MARVION is not liable for loss of profits, business interruption, indirect or consequential losses, or delays
caused by suppliers or logistics. Liability is limited to the value of the purchased item.
Force Majeure
MARVION is not liable for delays caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, strikes,
pandemics, or transport disruptions.
Notices
Formal notices must be sent to our registered address or email. Notices are deemed received upon hand
delivery, two business days after posting, or one business day after confirmed email delivery.
Amendments
MARVION may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our website or services constitutes
acceptance of the latest version.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of
the UK courts.
